Hanco is strategy advisor to banks and other financial institutions in emerging markets and to (potential) investors in financial institutions. On behalf of BIO (DFI of Belgium) until recently he was Director of Prasac MFI, the largest micro finance institution of Cambodia, and advised on its commercial strategy, operational enhancement, risk management and developed a roadmap for its conversion into a commercial bank. As an advisor to Capital Tool Company (CTC), Hanco has been involved in several start-up projects of CTC evaluating the potential for CTC’s web-based receivable-finance platform (TREFI).
Hanco had a 16-year career at ING Group. For nearly 8 years he had senior roles at ING-IGA, a specialist financial-sector consulting group, lastly as its Director - Asia, based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he worked for the international leasing division that targeted SME clients in countries across Europe.
Hanco founded Priority Project Limited (PPL) in 2006, a consulting firm supporting financial institutions with strategic and business planning, hands-on implementation of new business lines and operational enhancement, as well as investment advice to foreign institutions regarding equity investments. Hanco holds Master Degree Business Administration, University of Groningen, The Netherlands (1988)
